Oakview Cottage is a cosy wooden cottage located on a croft (Small Holding)
in North Ballachulish just 5 miles North of Glencoe and 12 miles from Fort William in the Scottish Highlands. Oakview Cottage
is pictured above left and the front view from the Cottage is pictured above right.
This self-catering
cottage has wooden steps leading up to a covered verandah, which lead directly into the sitting/dinning area. On the veranda
there is a large wooden bench should you wish to sit back and take in the stunning views.
To the
right there is Loch Linnhe with mountains on the horizon beyond. To the front there are green fields and views over Loch Leven
to Beinn a'Bheithir massif, a popular mountain for active walkers. To the left is the dominant Pap or Glencoe and surrounding
mountains, which stand guard to the world famous Glencoe. The kitchen is well equipped with electric
ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave oven, fridge/freezer unit, washing machine, toaster, cooking utensils, and an electric
kettle. The compact shower room/toilet is fully tiled. The shower is electric with a good size rectangular cubicle that incorporates
a tiled seat. There is an electric towel rail.
The lounge has a large 32" colour TV to view
from the two big comfortable arm chairs, but it's more likely its the stunning views that will draw your attention. There
is a coffee table, full size drop leaf dining table with two wooden chairs. As a centre point there is wooden fireplace with
an electric two-bar fire.The bedroom has a double bed with two bedside units that each have a lamp. There are two full size
wardrobes and a single vanity unit incorporating an overhead storage area, a large mirror and three good size drawers. Linen
and towels are supplied.
The heating in this cosy self-catering cottage is supplied by three
electric storage heaters, One each in the kitchen, sitting room and bedroom. Additional heating is supplied by the previously
mentioned electric two-bar fire.
Outside the cottage within its own lawn/garden there is a clothes
drying area. Parking is for one vehicle only at the adjacent house car park. Unfortunately the cottage is not suitable for
disabled clients.
